Frequently asked questions
What does “whole word” do?
It only matches your search term when it appears as a complete word, so searching for "cat" won’t match inside "category" or "concatenate".
Can I use regular expressions?
Yes. Turn on Use regex and the Find field is treated as a regular expression pattern instead of plain text — useful for matching patterns like emails or numbers.
Why does it say “Invalid regex”?
This appears when your regex pattern has a syntax error, like an unclosed bracket or an invalid escape sequence. Fix the pattern and the error clears automatically.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. Matching and replacing both happen locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing is uploaded.
