Which format should I choose?
Use PNG for graphics, logos, or anything needing transparency. Use JPEG for photographs where small size matters. Use WebP for the best of both — small files with optional transparency, supported by all modern browsers.
Why did my PNG lose its transparency as a JPEG?
JPEG has no transparency channel, so transparent areas are filled with a solid white background during conversion. If you need to keep transparency, choose PNG or WebP instead.
Does converting change or delete my original file?
No. The tool reads a copy of your image and generates a brand-new file in the chosen format. The original on your device is left completely untouched.
Are my images sent anywhere to be converted?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser with the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device — nothing is uploaded or stored on any server.
